Langshan nice environment attracts glossy ibis to settle down
The glossy ibis, listed as a national key protected wild bird, was spotted in the village of Yaoshi, Langshan Township, Xinning county while the staff of Xinning County Forestry Bureau conducting the daily patrols.

The ibis is a large bird and a close relative of the rare bird crested ibis. It is mainly distributed in southern Eurasia, Africa, and other regions. Its population in China is extremely rare and its distribution area is very narrow. Since 2009, it has been found sporadically in China. The glossy ibis prefers to live in groups and often gather together with other ibis and egrets. They mainly feed on small invertebrates such as aquatic insects, shrimps, crustaceans, and mollusks.
